Thanksgiving is upon us and soon it will be Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, and New Years! ‘Tis the season to give thanks and cheers! And why not give those thanks and cheers is chic, gold confetti champagne flutes that you’ve made yourself? Today I am going to show you how to DIY your own Gold Confetti Champagne Flutes using a Silhouette CAMEO

Supplies:

Champagne flutes (4 pack at Target for $9.99)
Gold Vinyl
Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait
Circle Confetti (Design ID #45405)
Cheers (Design ID #24001)
Weeding hook
Transfer paper or contact paper
Scissors

Directions:

– Measure the base of your champagne flute, I found it was easiest to just place it on my cutting mat
– In Silhouette Studio open a new file and bring in Circle Confetti design and Cheers design
– Draw a circle a tad bit bigger than your champagne flute base, duplicate for each glass you want to make
– Place your circle on top of your confetti design
– Select your circles and while holding SHIFT select your Circle Confetti design then in the modify window click CROP (see screenshot below). Before pressing anything else click on GROUP in the bottom left corner.
– Arrange the confetti base circles along with “Cheers” onto your drawing area. I like to maximize my vinyl usage as you can see below in how I cut mine all close together.
– Place your vinyl in your machine with the blade set to a depth of 2 (I always use my mat when cutting vinyl, it’s a personal preference)
– Select Vinyl as your material in the Cut window and let it fly!
– Weed the excess vinyl from your design. You will need a hook (or something sharp) to get the little pieces out of the lettering. Cut each design apart from one another (see below).
– Using transfer tape or contact paper (see my tutorial on Vinyl 101) pick up your vinyl, pick a starting spot on your glass base and in a circle start pressing your “confetti” down. Because this is a curved surface you will have to pick up the transfer tape as soon as you’ve pressed down the vinyl and work your way around the base.
– Repeat this process with “cheers”
– Clink
– Drink

I am so in love with these glasses that I believe I will be keeping them for myself! They will make the perfect way to toast in the New Year with my husband!

It’s Monday and sometimes on Mondays we need a little pick me up. I know that one thing that always brings a smile to my face is monograms. So let’s just refer to Monday as Monogram Monday and we’ll all be just a bit happier about the start to the work week. Today’s monogram might be small but it’s transformation of a plain little appetizer plate is nothing short of mighty! Take into consideration that this project took me less than 5 minutes and you get more Monogram Monday bang for your buck!

Supplies:
– Silhouette (or any other vinyl cutting machine)
– Vinyl (outdoor gloss vinyl if your dish will get wet)
– Contact or Transfer paper
– Small ceramic dish – I used “Tasting Bowls” from Libbey (found on Amazon) but any small dish will do
– Ruler

Measure the inside bottom of your tasting dish. Mine was just shy of 2 inches in each direction. Using your design software, Silhouette Studio in my case, and design your monogram* and size it smaller than the dimensions of your dish. Cut out your monogram on any color or patterned vinyl and use your contact paper or transfer tape to press your design on to the dish. That’s all there is to it!

*The Silhouette Store has the script monogram letters but you will have to buy each letter individually. You can also buy the script font Vines from Front Bros as well as the Circle Monogram font. For a free alternative to Vines you can try KK Monogram that is available for free on DaFont.com.

I just really love all things gold when it comes to decorating and accessorizing right now so I had to make one using this shiny gold vinyl.

It’s just so elegant.

But then again I love all things polka dot and black is so timeless that I just had to make one using this great patterned vinyl, too!

These small ring dishes would complete any bridal shower gift, would make LOVELY stocking stuffers, as well as a nice anytime, just because gift!

Now that I’ve got you singing the song I’ll give you a little time to finish…ok, are you ready to continue? Last year I was super honored to have a little part in Bill and Scout’s, aka The Guncles, daughter’s amazing 3rd birthday celebration. The theme was Doc Simone (Simore is their cute and very stylish daughter) and Jenny of Jenny Cookies styled the Doc party to set the bar for all Doc parties! With a 3 year old myself I was well aware of everything Doc McStuffins and designed this really fun wreath (as photographed by Francis Iacuzzi and seen on People.com)

It’s one of my favorite wreaths and recently I made a pair of ribbon topiaries with pops of hot pink to coordinate the Doc wreath.

They are so cute! I want to make ribbon topiaries to fill up my house or at least as a centerpieces for every party.

Making a special occasion card with a gift card holder is a nice way to add personalization and love to an otherwise unpersonalized gift.

Using the fun supplies in the September Baribox coupled with my Crop-a-dile, a rhinestone brad, a 4 bar sized blank card, double sided scrapbook adhesive, and a little glitter glue I came up with a great way to present a gift card for an upcoming wedding.

First use the really cute Dear Lizzy date stamper and the Color Box ink to stamp a sentiment and the date onto one of the SEI Polished Pearl embellishment tags. Then hand write Congratulations or whatever phrase would best fit your special occasion. Then glue the tag to the center of the front of the card. I added 2 more butterfly embellishments that were also in the kit to give the card some fun and dimension.

To create the gift card pocket I glued the foldable embellishment tag to the inside of the card and attached another really cute tag I found in the kit on top of that. I hand wrote Mr. & Mrs. and this was for a wedding present. Insert your gift card so you can get a good idea where to attach your brad and one more tag from the SEI Polished Pearls set.

To add more fun and dimension I glued the rest of the butterflies from the kit to the inside of the card as well as used a little glitter glue to make “polka dots” all over the card. When the glue dried I used the Color Box ink pad along all the edges of the card to add some color.

Don’t forget to sign your name to the card. I used the Studio Calico little pebble tag, Love, to the back of the card and signed our name underneath.

And there you have it. I personalized touch to giving a gift card, and it only took about 15 minutes to put together!

I am back today to share with you the signature cocktail that we served at the Red & Black Tattoo Baby Shower. A cocktail that I think would be PERFECT for a Halloween party (think Vampires & Blood!) – and to make it doubly better it would look exactly the same if you wanted to  skip the alcohol!!

Having a signature cocktail makes the cocktail aspect of your party simpler, cheaper, and more tied together. I love picking a drink that ties into your color theme. There are so many brightly colored liquors that making a signature cocktail for your party is easier than ever. To top that off, Vodka comes in just about any flavor you want these days, so not only can your cocktail match your color scheme it can also compliment your dessert table choices.

Recipe:
(adapted from Grey Goose)
1.5 parts Cherry flavored Vodka (there are many to pick from)
3.5 parts Sprite (or other lemon-lime soda, Ginger Ale is also a great option)
.5 parts Genadine
Cherries (optional)

I would suggest freezing your vodka and chilling your Sprite & Grenadine so everything is nice and cold. Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher. Keep pitcher on ice or provide ice for your guests’ individual use. Place 1 cherry in every glass and let the guests pour their own drink when they arrive and as they need refills.

For more adult beverage option you can visit and follow my pinterest board on the subject!
Please enjoy responsibly!
