You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen.,
But do you recall?
The most famous reindeer of all?
Silly question, of course you do! It’s Rudolph and with that sparkly, or glittery, red nose he belongs front and center on your front door this Christmas.
But that’s not all I have to share with you today folks, I have teamed up with 14 other OUTSTANDING bloggers who have all created new and amazing Christmas wreaths, too! Please make sure you take the time to visit all their wreaths, too, they will definitely get you into the Holiday Spirit!

When I first saw this paper maché reindeer at Michael’s I picked it up not having any idea what I was going to do with it other than make it the centerpiece of our holiday decorations.  Add in a little cabana stripe ribbon from Nashville Wraps, vintage gold paint, red glitter, and some pom pom trim and I was in business!

I thought good ol’ Rudy could use a little extra glitter so I made a quick rosette out of ruby red glitter paper and attached a piece of wood bunting painted in the matching gold and adorned with a vinyl decal I made with my Silhouette CAMEO.

And what dapper man, or deer, doesn’t look better with a bowtie. I made this one out of wired glitter ribbon, a twist tie, and some hot glue.

Rudolph would just be any reindeer walking down the street if it weren’t for his red nose. Using a q-tip I applied Mod Podge in a deer nose shape and covered it with bright red glitter. A great tip with glitter is to use a dry paint or makeup brush to remove excess glitter from areas around the glittered spot.

Below you will find the links to each of the brand new 2014 Christmas Wreaths. To appreciate all the lovely details of each wreath, click on each of the links.

If somehow you get to my front door and haven’t noticed the University of Florida license plates and decals on our cars and you missed the Gator garden flag in the front bushes AND you missed the Gator gnomes guarding our front steps then you will definitely understand where our college football (and baseball, basketball, softball, and so on) allegiance lies when you see the biggest wreath I’ve ever made. After years of making wreaths for others I finally decided it was time to make one for myself and since I didn’t have to ship it anywhere I could make it as big as I wanted. So I did.

Using an 18 inch flat styrofoam wreath form I used more than 40 yards of ribbon, beautiful orange and blue ribbon, to create this wreath. That’s over 350 hand-cut pieces of 4 inch long ribbon, sewn into 2 inch long loops, and then individually hot glued into place. There are no short cuts for this wreath that can have the same results.

And because the wreath wasn’t enough I created a multi-layered add-on pin to really hit the point across.

Sometimes you really need to be willing to give up a couple finger prints in order to get the wreath you want.

I think my door looks complete for football season now.

And there is no doubt with this wreath hanging up that In All Kinds of Weather I LOVE Florida Football!

Are any of your children obsessed with Disney’s Frozen? My youngest daughter feels a deep connection with Elsa for whatever reason, so much so that she will even wear blue now (which is a pretty big deal for my pink and purple princess). We’ve pre-ordered the DVD and patiently waiting for March 18th to roll around. I know you can buy the digital version in the iTunes store now, but we’re going old fashion and waiting for the DVD release!
Until then we are gearing up to have some friends over to watch the movie and sing along and I thought that occasion could use a special front door welcome in the form of, what else, a Frozen Inspired Ribbon Wreath

I raided my ribbon collection for all different shades of aqua, light turquoise, teal, and baby blue to create this wreath. Then, using an svg file I purchased from ppbn designs, I painstakingly cut out the Snow Queen and attached her to a pin so that I could add her to the wreath.

And don’t worry Anna fans, there will be a coordinating Anna wreath coming soon, too!
As always, if you’d like to purchase your own wreath or DIY kit you can check out my shop

Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez

The good times are sure to roll this Mardi Gras, especially if this festive purple, green, and yellow glitter and polka dot wreath is hanging from your front door! Of course I had to add a little chevron into the mix, too!

I usually shy away from using too much glitter ribbon in a wreath but when I saw the great colors Hobby Lobby had in glitter ribbon I just couldn’t resist. And really, if any wreath could use a little extra glitter, it’s a Mardi Gras wreath.

I just really love the colors in this wreath!

There is a reason craft stores start carrying holiday supplies long before each holiday actually arrives. That reason is because if you don’t start now, you’ll never finish. Well, maybe YOU will finish, but I will not! I was very thankful for the trim-a-tree supplies being out before Halloween so that I could complete my Christmas Tree fabric wreath. I am sure this won’t be my only wreath of the season but for now it’s my favorite!!

I am pretty sure my neighbors think it’s odd I left this hanging on my door today, but I just couldn’t take it down.

The color palette sets the tone for how I will be decorating this year.

It might have been in the mid 70’s here today but that’s ok, Merry Christmas Y’all!

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet (that was probably hot pink velour with rhinestone button tuffs),
Eating her curds and whey (no way!);
Along came a (hot pink glittered) spider,
Who sat down beside her (hey girl!)
And frightened Miss Muffet away.
If Miss Muffet wasn’t such a scaredy pants and took the time to get to know miss glitter spider she would have discovered how Glamtastic and Spookalicious she is. Oh well, Miss Muffet’s loss is our gain!

I wanted to make a Halloween wreath that was more Glam than spooky and think I accomplished that with this color palette. Hot Pink, Purple, Lime Green, and Black – I am LOVING it!

It’s definitely spookalicious and glamtastic but I thought it needed a little more.

So I added a spiderweb that is cut out from purple glitter cardstock, but it needed more.

So I glittered a giant rubber spider, of course.
Fun and easy tutorial on glittering you own spider coming soon!

Here in North Carolina we had a nice little taste of fall weather for a couple days. I can’t lie, autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the crisp, cooler, less humid air. I love sweaters, jeans, and boots. I love the holidays. However, I do not love the traditional colors associated with fall; red, orange, and yellow. When I call this my “fall wreath” it’s more of what I like to think of as Nautical Fall. Darker blues mixed in with greens and yellows.
Last week I shared how to make the felt flowers so this week I wanted to share with you how I used them.

To create the wreath I simply wrapped a 14″ straw wreath form with chunky chenille baby blanket yarn and then used pearl topped straight pins from my sewing supplies to pin the felt flowers on top. Using the pins makes this yarn-wrapped wreath reusable from season to season!

My 5 year old says it’s the prettiest wreath she’s ever seen, so I’ll take that compliment and keep this one on my front door!

Several months ago I fell head over orange and blue heels in love with this fabric.
Not all that shocking that I fell in LOVE with it, I know, but after buying a couple yards all it did was sit in my fabric cabinet. Until last night around 10pm when I had the sudden urge to make myself a new wreath!

I wasn’t sure it was going to work, but I really wanted the orange and blue chevron pattern to stay true to their design. I decided to wrap the wreath from front to back with my fabric. It wasn’t easy and it took about a bajillion pins but I finally got it to work! After hanging the wreath up in my office and staring at it for a while I decided it needed some add-ons. The bow with the fabric covered button was cute but I still needed more. I thought about adding a chalkboard cut out decal to the wreath but didn’t want the black on the wreath and wasn’t in the mood to make my own white chalkboard paint. So after a little supply searching through my ever-unorganized craft stash I had a Gru style Lightbulb moment!!
DRY ERASE BOARD!

I found a small wood circle, cut out a piece of peel and stick dry erase board to match, hot glued a little ribbon ruffle onto the back and VIOLA – a customizable Game Day Wreath! Now I can change the saying on the wreath every week depending on who my Alma Mater is playing! Brilliant right?!?

These would be really fun for any team that you love and I am looking forward to changing my wreath’s message every week!

The great thing about going on vacations is, well, going on vacation and BEING on vacation. The flip side is missing out on what feels like almost an entire month! Before I left I was so busy completing orders, buttoning up details on a big presentation at work so I didn’t have a moment to make anything for 4th of July. And in craft blogland, if you don’t have something up a month before the holiday it feels like you are already behind.
I look a few moments today to whip up this 4th of July inspired wreath. I hope you enjoy it!

It’s going to be hard to part with this one!

This one will go in the Ready to Ship section of my shop, but I can also make this combo as a custom wreath or a DIY kit!
