The US Men’s National Team is heading to the round of 16 in the World Cup. Fourth of July is next week. Any day is a great day to show your patriotic pride and if you have 20 minutes you can make really cute Patriotic Cookies, promise! You just need a couple simple supplies, like SweetWorks Pearls and Sixlets, and you’re ready to go. Of course you can always substitute your favorite sugar cookie and buttercream recipes if you have a little more time, I just never seem to have much of it lately!

Supplies:

Ready to bake sugar cookies
Frosting
Various Pearls, Sixlets, and sprinkles

I love working with the SweetWorks pearls, they are a little smaller than Sixlets, not chocolate, and they come in every color imaginable! You can pick them up pretty much anywhere they have baking or party supplies.

Bake your sugar cookies per the directions on the package and let cool on a cooling rack. I like to place the pearls in ramekins so they are easy to access.

Once the cookies are cool to the touch you can frost them. The Easy Frost comes with a star tip already on the frosting, no need to transfer it to a pastry bag, or you can just smooth it on the old fashion way. Both make equally pretty cookies.

After you’ve frosted the cookies just start adding Pearls, sprinkles, and Sixlets! It’s really that simple. Just press the candies right into the frosting to create any design you can think of.

Don’t have time/patience/desire to design the cookies yourself? Simple solution: set out the supplies and you have an fun activity for your kids or guests! It’s a TWO-FFER! Ooooo, come to think of it this would be a great activity for a Captain American or any superhero party!
The possibilities are endless!

I missed it last week but I am back for a new edition of Things I do Thursday! This week it’s a quick kitchen edition.
Three disclaimers – 1) This isn’t an original recipe, but an adaptation from this delicious recipe I found over at Oh, Bite It!  2) I am anything BUT crafty in the kitchen. I don’t really cook food, I just prepare it. If I didn’t have 3 people in my house that constantly expect to be fed, I would live off salad and popcorn! C) Food photography is it’s own kind of special craft, and I just ain’t that kind of crafty!
All that being said here is how I make Three Ingredient Cheesy Biscuit Bombs.

As the name implies, you’ll only need three ingredients to make these yummies. Of course, you could make your own biscuits, but as I said before, my craftiness doesn’t pass over the kitchen threshold.

You’ll need cheese, canned biscuits, and some garlic & herb butter.

This is my new favorite finishing butter. It has a lot more flavor than just your ordinary garlic butter, but whatever you want to use will be just perfect for this recipe.

Preheat your over according to the package. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread out your biscuits.

1. Use your fingers to make your biscuit into a bowl  2. Fill your bowl with the cheese  3. Close the bowl encasing the cheese in the biscuit, pitch shut  4. Flip the biscuit bomb over and top with a sliver of your garlic and herb butter.

Bake according to package direction, but err on the sooner rather than later side.

You’ll want to serve these Cheesy Biscuit Bombs as soon as you can while the cheese is still ooey and gooey!

I should totally close this post with somethine CHEESY like these BISCUITS are the BOMB, but I would never do a thing like that! 😉
Enjoy!!
