{Thread} Box!

January 6, 2011 By Stacy 10 Comments

I was completely in love with The Box of Teacher Goodies from the Girls at eighteen25 from the first time I saw it. I was even a bit sad my girls weren’t old enough to go to school and have teachers who could use such a thing. But for Christmas I made one for the 2 administrator ladies at our daycare and it was a big hit!
Well when I was buying the supplies for the first one, I bought 2 of the organizer boxes. I mean, how can you not buy 2? It’s not like my crafty space is jam packed with crap already, what’s one more random box gonna hurt? I am proud to announce that the box didn’t go unused for long, less than a month in “storage” and I’ve already put that baby to good use. Using the tutorial at eighteen25, I covered the front in some very beautiful Paper Salon paper (to my dismay they are no longer around 🙁 their paper suites were some of my all time favorites and they were a Minneapolis company) I had been saving for a rainy day, and made it into a Thread Box!! It is so much more cleaner and organized than the cheap thing I had been using from Walmart. One of my favorite things about it is that I can keep the matching bobbins in the same compartment as the thread. Hopefully eliminating the double bobbin problem! I get excited about the lamest things, I know, but this project just really excited me!

Fantabulous Friday!

This is an awesome idea! I’m just beginning to learn to sew and it will be nice to get organized as I go along instead of learning the hard way (like I usually do).

I really like the fact that you mentioned you can store the bobbin with the spool thread. I often have a mix of cotton and poly bobbins and can’t remember which is which. This solves that problem.

What a good way to keep the filled bobbins with matching thread! I may have to get some of these!
