What a Mess! | Keeping it Real

July 18, 2013 By Stacy 4 Comments

Life is chaotic. Two kids (five and three) with, what seems like, the entire Toys R Us catalog, a husband with his own hobbies, and a crafter living in 1 house with no basement is becoming really chaotic. As in, I WANT TO THROW EVERYTHING AWAY AND NEVER BUY ANYTHING ELSE. EVER! chaotic. So, we’re purging and organizing. It’s not going as fast I’d like but it’s going. I will mostly likely have a virtual craft supply sale by the end of the summer, so stay tuned for that.
For now we’ve made an initial IKEA run to get things started in my office. But I just wanted to share with you what it’s been like in my house for the last couple months as I prepared to get new office pieces…

Oh, yes, that’s for realz!

And I have to sit in this room from 8 am to 5 pm EVERY week day because I work from home for my day job.

And this is my dining room.

But we are making progress. This is the start of my new cabinetry!! And, yes, I totally bought a light turquoise counter top!

This is a blurry photo (the only one I can find) of what this wall use to look like!

How do you organize your craft supplies? I feel like I need professional help!

Thank you for the real pictures! I too am a “craft hoarder” as well as a “book hoarder”. And now that I have been retired for 2 years I realize I will never get all projects done or use all of the craft items I have. I too have done some downsizing and still need to do more. I had sewing patterns for my granddaughters in childrens sizes 3-12. They are now in high school and college. Wishing you lots of luck it is hard to choose what to let go of sometimes. I still hope to read some of the hundreds of mystery books I have.

Thank you for posting this. I have TWO “hoarding” rooms and I can’t seem to find the motivation to go through and clean them up. Maybe this will push my button a little. One is for crafting and the other is for books. I have this grand idea for a crafting space and I need to make it a reality! Glad I’m in good company.

    Oh muh gawsh!!!

We may have been clutter studio twins. My is pretty chaotic looking too… although I know where {almost} everything is in there.

Oh… and now I know why those mason jar cups are always sold out when I go shopping. ;oP
