Navy and Chambray Family Photo Outfits

October 28, 2014 By Stacy Leave a Comment

Over the weekend we had our 4th annual family portraits taken by LunahZon Photography. We feel so lucky to have had them (it’s an amazing husband and wife duo) behind the lens for the last three years because I know that even if we were wearing Juicy track suits they’d make us look good. However, since we aren’t the Juicy track suit types, I definitely feel the pressure to come up with 4 complimentary and cohesive outfits. This year I went with Navy and Chambray (or as my husband said, “why can’t you just call it denim, why does it have to be so fancy?”) with a touch of white and pearls. I am on pins and needles waiting to see how they turned out but until I thought I’d try my hand at showing you what we wore, inspiration board style! (The colors are a little strange in the inspiration board but it really all came together in real life, pinky swear!)

It all starting with this image that I found on Pinterest. The source leads to a Polyvore account from Plaid Love! I already had a similar vest, boots, and jeans so all I needed was the shirt and accessories.

I went with a shirt from Old Navy that I thought was similar enough (and priced just right), a pair of my favorite hi-rise skinny jeans from American Eagle, my Ecco boots, and Barbour vest. To class it up just a notch I added a faux pearl cluster necklace I found at Versona Accessories (the one pictured is from Charming Charlie)

For my oldest daughter, once again I hit the jackpot at Old Navy. This pindot chambray t-shirt dress is SO cute, I wish it came in my size! I paired it with boots from Target along with a string of faux pearls (not pictured) and hair flower I picked up at Hobby Lobby (not pictured). Easy, simple, totally wearable again and again.

My younger daughter is a bit more, shall we say, sassy when it comes to her wardrobe. I knew she would need tulle or there would be a fight. I paired this Osh Kosh chambray shirt with a white tulle skirt that I picked up at Old Navy (since it isn’t available online I have pictured something similar from Osh Kosh below) and these fun boots from Old Navy. I also added a sting of faux pearls and a hair flower found at Hobby Lobby, similar to her sister’s.

My husband wore one of his favorite Vineyard Vines shirts with his favorite everyday jeans. Simple!!
So there you have it! Like I said, I can’t wait to see how our photographers worked their mad skillz with our photos this year, but for now I will leave you with our 2013 photo!
