The wait and suspense is over! I got my huge holiday craft delivery from ConsumerCrafts that I talked about last week. If you follow me on Instagram, and I don’t know why you wouldn’t, then you already saw a sneak peek of my goodies! It was truly hard for me to pick 1 homemade holiday craft to share with you so stay tuned for the next couple weeks for a few more, but today I want to show you how to make a DIY Angel Ornament (with glitter) in 4 easy steps!!
*disclaimer – this post is sponsored by Consumer Crafts but the opinions stated are 100% authentic and of my own accord.

The supplies you need are very simple and very easy to customize – the shapes and the colors are all interchangeable, just pick what you want!

Supplies:
Glass Ornaments
Fine Glitter
Satin Angel wings
Coordinating 3/8″ Ribbon
Funnel (or a piping tip as I used)
Pledge Floor Care clean & shine or the cheap non-aerosal hair spray works in a pinch, too
Glue gun and glue sticks

Step 1) Remove the ornament tops and swish around a small amount of Pledge or hairspray. Dump any access liquid into your next ornament.

2) Place a funnel, or icing piping tip, into the top of your ornament and pour some glitter in. Start rolling the glitter around to cover all the sides, adding more glitter if needed.

Step 3) Place caps, carefully, back on to the ornaments.

Step 4) Hot glue angel wings to the back of the ornament and tie a coordinating ribbon through the loop for hanging (or use an ornament hook).

It was really THAT simple! Now you have a beautiful ornament to adorn your tree with the memory of loved ones or give ask gifts.

Of course, you could take it one step further and add some personalization – with paint, vinyl, or stickers.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to what you can do with a box of glass ornaments! Find out more information about Consumer Crafts along with some really great DIY inspiration:

Speaking of adding some custom personalization to these Consumer Crafts is hosting an awesome giveaway – a Circut Explore valued at $299! Please make sure to read their giveaway terms in the below rafflecopter! Good Luck!!!

** The Giveaway is now Closed**

I want to share with you a wonderful organization today, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. This program was started by to OXO employees who were inspired by their son’s battle with pediatric cancer. As we all know, the main way to find therapies and treatments for cancers of all kind is through research and research takes funding. The goal of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer it to raise funding for pediatric cancer research by holding local bake sales.
This year, OXO will donate up to $100,000 to support research for new and improved therapies in the area of pediatric cancers. Part of their efforts revolve around the Limited Edition Cookie Spatula – 50% of profits from the sale of these spatulas, up to $100,000, will benefitpediatric cancer awareness. You can go to www.oxogoodcookies.com to find a local retailer who carries this fun green spatula and learn more about their cause and how you can become involved in hosting your own bake sale. They are also carried at Bed, Bath, & Beyond as well as Amazon.com.
Also on www.oxogoodcookies.com you can send virtual cookies to spread the word about your bake sale and OXO will match all proceeds of bake sales that are registered on the site by Dec 31, 2011 (up to $100,000 again!)
OXO was nice enough to send me 2 of these Limited Edition Good Cookie spatuals, 1 for me to test out and write to you about, and 1 to send to you! (of course, although OXO sent me these spatuals for free this post, all my thoughts about the product and the Good Cookie program are 100% mine, as they are not forcing me to say anything against my will)
To “test” out this cute spatula I asked my daughter to help me make some sugar cookies after bath time a couple weeks ago. It was the first time I really let her get into all the steps of cookie making and she really enjoyed it, so we plan to do it again this week to make some cookies for her teachers and Santa!
Doing rolled out sugar cookies is so hard for me because of the mess!! It drives me crazy but baking with my baby made the mess most definitely worth it in the end. Have a look for yourself

And now for the part you’ve been waiting for…the giveaway details
It’s simple – just leave me a comment telling me what you are most grateful for this holiday season.
I will pick one winner from random.org on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at noon eastern!
Good luck and be a good cookie this holiday season!!

**UPDATED – THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED**
Recently my family and I did our first ever on location, non-studio photo session. It was SO much fun, but more about that on another day! The photo session was kind of dual purpose, photos of the kids and some good group shots for our holiday card. For the holidays cards I wanted to have a cute chalkboard prop but I couldn’t find an affordable solution. So I MADE my own affordable solution using FOAM BOARD!! I know, genius right? I wanted something that would be light weight enough for the kiddos to carry around but fit in with the location we were taking the pictures at which was a living farm at a state park near our house.

I ran to my local Hobby Lobby and bought an open backed frame that was perfectly rustic and then started to prep my foam board. First I cut my foam board with my exacto knife (on top of a self healing cutting mat) to 10×20 to fit my frame. Then I added a thin coat of primer and 3 coats of chalkboard paint, letting it dry in between each coat.

Once it was all dry I primed it with chalk per the directoins on the can and then used Gorilla Tape to secure the foam board in the frame. Using a chalkboard marker I wrote a little holiday message! I think it turned out super cute and it looked wonderful in our photos.

But HOLD THE PHONE! I have a faux version to share with you in case you don’t want to buy chalkboard paint or care to re-use the “chalk board” part! Elmer’s sells BLACK foam board and these amazing Painters markers so you can skip all the painting steps and just cut your black foam core to fit your frame opening and use the awesome Painters markers to write you message! And the beauty about using the foam board is that it is really cheap and comes in large sheets so you can pre-cut several faux chalkboards out of the black foam board and have them ready to slip in and out of your frame!!

These are my favorite paint pens and they come in so many colors and tip sizes!

Elmer’s has been kind enough to offer 2 of you your very own Foam Board gift packs so that you are able to make great home decor projects for less, too! If you win the giveaway you will win:
·         Black 20×30 Foam Board
·         White 20×30 Foam Board
·         CraftBond All-Purpose Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Repositionable Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Extra-Strength Glue Stick
·         X-ACTO Designer Series Gripster Knife
·         Painters Assorted Colors Set

So here’s what you need to do to be entered to win – please remember to leave a separate comment for EACH item below!
1) leave a comment telling me what home decor project you’d like to make for less
2) follow me on Twitter
3) follow Elmer’s on Twitter
4) Tweet about this giveaway using @sheskindacrafty, @elmers, and #lookforless

The giveaway will end Monday, December 12, 2011 at midnight and I will draw a winner using Random.org! You must be an 18 or older US citizen who lives in the United States. You will have 24 hours to contact me via email, facebook, or twitter to claim your prize!

Good Luck & Thank you to Elmer’s for both sending me this great craft kit and offering it to 2 She’s{kinda}Crafty readers!!

Love this theme! My favorite camping memory is from when I was little and my sister and I would go camping w/ our Dad… Two little girls out in the middle of the woods getting firewood w/ our Step-mom when the LOUDEST growl you can imagine echoed through the trees. It was a Bear! We couldn’t see where it was, all we knew is that we had to make it to the top of the hill to the road for safety. Of course the time I really needed my climbing abilities to come in handy, my legs failed me. I was so scared, I practically couldn’t move. It was right then we heard Dad laughing so hard at us because HE was the Grizzly Bear growling from behind a tree! We were so mad, we wouldn’t even speak to him… Now every time I think of camping, that is the one memory that always comes rushing back to leave a smile on my face. 😀
Congratulations goes out to comment #25 – Jess

My favorite camping memory was staying at my grandparent’s camper in a little resort about 20 minutes from our house. I remember they had this little yellow alarm clock that made a louder than normal ticking sound. I now cherish that memory of falling asleep to the sound of a ticking clock and the smell of a campfire.
Contact me using the email button on the right side of my blog so that Elmer’s can send out your craft kits!!!
Thank you to everyone who entered, I loved reading all your camping comments, which mostly had to do with s’mores, YUMMY!

At the beginning of summer I was contact by Elmer’s about hosting a Kids Craft Camp play date. Their offer was so sweet I couldn’t turn it down! They send me 5 kids craft kits, 1 adult craft kit, and a Walmart gift card, and in return all I have to do it throw a fun play date and document it for you?!? SOLD! And even better yet, I also get to give AWAY a craft package to one of you (more details on that below the giveaway is now closed). The theme and projects we created were all up to me and after a week or 2 of thinking about it, I decided on a craft that led me to hosting a Camping themed play date. I will let you enjoy the photos from the party and then I will give you more details on how we used the great craft kits and Elmer’s products, as well as give you more details about the giveaway!!

Cute Bee graphic purchased from JW Illustrations
Sign should have read – Only Happy Campers Welcome – j/k everyone was happy!
 The main set up

 Make your own s’mores bar
 Treat cones with Swedish Fish
S’mores Popcorn (looking at this photo now, it looks like mustard when the chocolate’s not dry, but trust me that is just yummy yellow chocolate melts before it hardens)- recipes from Nest of Posies
I used the Elmer’s Painter pens to personalizes each kid’s cup
 What is camping without Twinkies?
 Turkey Roll ups for lunch
No one ate these, but they were the colors of the party so I had to buy them
We drank Bug Juice (aka lemonade)
Everyone got to pick which marshmallows they wanted and then I put them under the broiler to toast up
Just some of the goodies that were in the Adult craft kit
I made tags for each bag
This is the awesome box that arrived for us
You need a flashlight if you’re gonna go on a Nature Hunt (especially at noon)
 The table set up
a box full of craft goodies!
Everyone had a great time decorating our “Tents” with all the great craft items
Here are a couple of the tents
After all that decorating we went on a nature hunt through the backyard to see if we could find any items on our list
Those pesky squirrels are always in my yard
And this swarm of bees was relentless
These frogs weren’t afraid of the kids
You just never know when Bambi is gonna bring his friends over for a party
Success!
So, all in all, we had a blast “camping” in the middle of the day and I am so excited to get the chance to share this opportunity with ONE of you!
