Fun with {Printables} - Cone Wrappers!

Today kicks off my series on how to use printables! You know you just love seeing all of the beautiful photo shoots and wonder how your party can look like that! Well, real parties don't look like photos shoots but you can definitely take your party or event or family get together to the next level using their professionally designed printables!

This week and next I am going to be going over, step by step, what to do with all the different kind of printables out there. I am going to br using the awesome 4th of July printable set available from Lauren McKinsey Designs. There are several things I love about this set that I think make it so worth the money. There are SO many different files and you can buy them all for a reduced set price or you can go ala carte and just buy what you need. The way she designed the set, it can be used for so many more occasions than just 4th of July - birthday parties, showers, you can even use the red stripes and dots for Christmas time! So once you buy a printable set it is your to keep and use forever and print off as many times as you want. I think this set will get you miles of use!

Today I am going to go over the cone wrappers. These are what sold me on the set because I happen to throwing a neighborhood dessert party (Ice cream, Cupcakes & Pie on the 4th of July!) this year and these are just PERFECT and I hadn't even thought of wrapping my ice cream cones!
This project can be done way in advanced or on the day of the party (or night before) so it's perfect for you planners and you slackers alike! I will go over both ways with you here!

Supplies:
Cone Wrapper printable from Lauren McKinsey (printed out, there are 6 different designs)
2 sided scrapbook tape
scissors
Sugar Cones (got mine for $1 at Wally World)
Go ahead and cut out all your cone wrappers - I thought I would be sneaky and cut them out using my Silhouette machine and it took WAY more time doing it than way than just cutting them out yourself. After cutting out 1 page's worth on the Silhouette I abandoned ship!
This first way is the do in advanced method.
On the side that doesn't have the non-colored tab, lay down a strip of 2-sided scrapbook tape (or whatever kind of glue you want to use)
 Peel it back
These printables are designed so well that all you have to do is match up the lines and you have yourself a perfect fitting cone wrapper. If you are doing this method, go ahead and make as many as you need and then just slip them on when you are setting up for the gathering
How great does that make your cone look? And this pattern can be used for SO many different events or just on a Sunday night ice cream party with the fam!!
The 2nd method of putting these together involves the same first couple steps from the make in advance method except this time after you've peeled away the backing on your tape, start rolling the wrapper, tab first, around the cone. This way does create a slightly more secure cone wrapper. I wouldn't do this more than a day in advance because it may affect the freshness of your cones.
See, they are both equally beautiful!
And you can stack them so they look like little flags!!! I know, it doesn't take much to amuse my simple mind!
So there you go, you have taken a $1 box (12 in a box) of sugar cones and kicked 'em up a notch by wrapping them with gorgeous printables!

OH! and by the way, she has a FREE printable for you, for a limited time, included in the collection, can you find it on THIS page?

Stay tuned tomorrow when I go over PIE BUNTINGS!!!

Keeping it real - Lauren McKinsey Designs provided me with these printables and on my own free will I offered to do a series on how to successfully use printables in general, her stuff just gives me such great designs to work with and show you with!
