Ah-Mason Ball Canning Teacher Treat

August 16, 2013 By Stacy 3 Comments

Happy Friday! I know that many of you might have children going back to school soon and some of you may have kids who already started their school years. Some of you might be looking for a fun birthday gift. And others are always looking for little gifts to give around the holiday time, in which case you could PIN this project and come back to use it around the new year! This easy project and printable could be used for any of those occasions!
The wonderful people at Ball Canning sent me several different Ball Mason Jars to try out including these versatile wide mouth pint jars. You can pick up a case them or I have found that most craft stores sell this size by the piece. Other than a mason jar, the supplies you need to make this project are up to you!

I picked up most of the contents for my jar from the dollar-ish section at Michaels a couple weeks back. I noticed that some of these items are now 40% too! Including the door knob I added to my canning lid! Just use a nail or screw and a hammer to “punch” a hole in to the center of the lid that is large enough to accommodate your knob’s screw.

Then use a little E6000 or your favorite glue to secure the knob in place.

I went ahead and used hot glue to permanently attach the lid to the band so that it all comes off as one piece when you unscrew the band.

I also used hot glue to attach my ribbon and tag. If you like this tag please feel free to download them by clicking HERE.

From here the possibilities for these jars is only limited by your imagination. The great part about using the wide mouth pint sized jars and that it’s easier to get items in and out and you have more room for taller or larger gifts.

I thought I’d use a light turquoise theme pretty much only because I fell in love with these bejeweled clothes pins!

Stuff all the contents in the jar, spin the lid back on, and VIOLA! a cute little treat for your teacher, a friend, a stranger, yourself….anyone you’d like to give a fun gift to!

 Happy Gift Canning!
